We really need to know it.

“What type of prarabdha do you have?”

In an informal satsang at Anand Vihar Powai, someone asked Pujya Guruji about Prarabdha.

“We keep saying that as you sow you grow. Whatever you receive is a result of your past karma. But do you know?” He said, “Prarabdha is also of different kinds?”

Obviously every one of us present was all ears to listen further from Guruji.

He said,”There is Ichha-prarabdha, anichha-prarabdha, parechha-prarabdha and then there is vyashti-prarabdha as well as samashti-prarabdha. I will explain to you one by one.”

“Ichha-prarabdha is due to a desire popping up in your mind to do a certain thing and that is natural. But when you are not really interested in doing something and still you have to do it due to given situation, which is aniccha-prarabdha.

When you do something for the sake of someone else that is parechha-prarabdha.

Vyashti-prarabdha is when you do something but the result is applicable not only to you but to others connected with you; like someone in family does something wrong and entire family is looked down.

Similarly, even if one has done nothing, but due to deeds of one’s family one has to face the music. That is samashti-prarabdha”, he said.
